A full-size pool table - 2.54 m by 1.27 m of cloth - stepped 480 times a second in metres and seconds, playing WPA eight-ball. It runs in the browser on a phone or a PC, needs nothing installed, and keeps working offline once the page has loaded, so there is no wait for an opponent and no connection needed.

## How it is played on a phone

Landscape. The first finger down on the cloth throws the aim line at that spot - that is how you say which ball you are on, in one touch, from across the table. After that first touch nothing jumps: every touch and drag turns the line by how far the finger moved, so the aim you just set is never snatched away and your finger is never sitting on top of the ball you are aiming at. The left thumb slides the power meter and lets go to shoot. A dedicated aim meter beside the right rail gives a hundredth of a degree.

## How it is played on a PC

The mouse aims by hover. Hold **Shift** to nudge the line finer. Click and pull back on the cue to load the shot, let go to play it.
